We hope that our project will not only be used by and inspire university and school students learning about the various landmarks as part of their history, law, gender studies, politics, citizenship studies but that it will spark similar projects. If it does, please let us know so that we can include a link below.
Landmarks in Gender and Legal History in the West Midlands was a poster exhibition in the Law School at the University of Birmingham showcasing a selection of the work done by undergraduate ‘gender and law’ students in 2017-2018. The purpose of the exhibition was to make women’s legal history visible on the walls of the Law School during Women’s History Month, and to prompt students, staff and visitors to explore that history. You can find out more about the project and download a gender and legal history walking tour of Birmingham here.
